Job Title:
Engineer, Embedded System Software
Location:
Mclean, VA and New Dehli, India
Mclean, Virginia based consumer electronics and entertainment content provider is seeking talented and experienced (3 - 5 years) embedded software engineers to join our team. These opportunities will include working with software engineering teams to design and develop embedded real-time software for consumer electronic devices.
Requirements:
- Expertise in C is required
- Ability to analyze and debug software drivers is necessary
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and related secure network protocols is preferred
- Experience with design and development of digital media devices, set-top boxes and connected multimedia devices is desirable
- Must have knowledge of peripheral controller interfaces and protocols
- Experience implementing code based on finite state machines and inter-processor communication
- Past experience programming communications processors is highly desirable
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and meet tight deadlines is a must
- Must be a team player and possess succinct communications skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (EE, CE, CS) is required
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and develop embedded software for XStreamHD products that address the requirements of a sophisticated HD home entertainment systems
- Work with application software engineers to develop APIs to support application features
- Document and communicate with design and test engineering teams to ensure that design / development outputs align with overall development timelines and business needs
- Implement code for application layer functions in support product feature sets
- Collaborate with ASIC and board designers to develop interfaces for control of hardware devices
- Integrate third party device drivers for Ethernet, USB2.0, IEEE1394, SATA devices, IR handheld devices, IR or USB keyboard and pointing device interfaces
