Job Title:
Engineer, Multi-Tier Web Applications Sofware Quality Assurance
Location:
Mclean, VA
Mclean, Virginia based consumer electronics and entertainment content provider is seeking talented and experienced (5-10 years) software engineers to join our team. These opportunities will include working with software engineering teams to ensure proper integration of the service applications with the embedded media server software in consumer electronic devices.
Requirements:
- Expertise in C or C++ and PHP is required
- Minimum four years experience in testing embedded software systems
- Past experience with multi-tier application architectures
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, Expect)
- Past experience with SQL databases and performance testing
- Extensive knowledge of content management systems
- Past experience with defect tracking and source code management and applications
- Ability to test web interfaces
- Past experience with Linux programming and administration as a test automation platform
- Knowledge of administration of LAMP platforms is highly desired
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and meet tight deadlines is a must
- Must be a team player and possess succinct communications skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (EE, CE, CS) is required
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute and maintain structured test plans and procedures
- Develop framework for automated regression testing
- Develop tools for stress testing and performance measurement
- Collaborate with software and network operation teams to define test case requirements
- Collaborate with embedded software test engineer to validate system integration
- Enforce quality standards
- Document and track software defects
- Make recommendations on usability of the internal and subscriber web interfaces
- Assist software and hardware teams to replicate identified defects
