Job Title:
Engineer, Embedded Systems Software Quality Assurance
Location:
Mclean, VA
Mclean, Virginia based consumer electronics and entertainment content provider is seeking talented and experienced (5-10 years) software engineers to join our team. These opportunities will include working with software engineering teams to define test cases and develop test plans to objectively verify proper operation of consumer electronic devices.
Requirements:
- Expertise in C or C++ and PHP is required
- Minimum four years experience in testing embedded software systems
- Past experience with multi-tier application architectures
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Perl, Expect)
- Past experience with TCP/IP and protocol sniffing tools
- Past experience with DLNA/UPNP-AV is highly desired
- Past experience with defect tracking and source code management and applications
- Knowledge of satellite communications systems
- Ability to test on-screen user interfaces and web interfaces
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and meet tight deadlines is a must
- Must be a team player and possess succinct communications skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (EE, CE, CS) is required
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute and maintain structured test plans and procedures
- Develop framework for automated regression testing
- Develop tools for stress testing and performance measurement
- Perform compliance and interoperability testing for DLNA-related protocols
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to define test case requirements
- Collaborate with web application test engineer to validate system integration
- Enforce quality standards
- Document and track software defects
- Make recommendations on usability of the user interfaces
- Assist software and hardware teams to replicate identified defects
