Job Title:
Engineer, Communications and Networking Software
Location:
Mclean, VA
Mclean, Virginia based consumer electronics and entertainment content provider is seeking talented and experienced (3 - 5 years) software engineers to join our team.
Requirements:
- Expertise in C or C++ is required
- Knowledge of wireless communications protocols
- Past experience with embedded real-time development on multiple core platform
- Ability to program communications processors
- Past experience with high speed packet processing
- Past experience with modem drivers and acquisition techniques
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP and related networking protocols
- Ability to develop code for satellite networks
- Understanding of SATCOM principals and adaptive coding techniques
- Past experience with VoIP/RTP/RTCP and SIP is desired
- Understanding of RTSP and multimedia LAN streaming
- Past experience with UPNP-AV, DTCP-IP and DLNA
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and meet tight deadlines is a must
- Must be a team player and possess succinct communications skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (EE, CE, CS) is required
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Design and implement communications protocol software for satellite network
- Develop drivers for satellite modem
- Implement acquisition and tuning code
- Develop routing and processing code for broadband packet streams
- Implement software forward error correction modules
- Implement network feedback and tuning algorithms
- Develop other software components, as required, to support the main project at both ends of the link
- Implement stream scheduling and QoS capabilities in the transmitter component for handling of real-time and high priority traffic
- Implement multimedia stream relay protocol for LAN distributed STBs
