Developer, Web Applications Software
Location:

Mclean, Virginia based consumer electronics and entertainment content provider is seeking talented and experienced (3 - 5 years) software engineers to join our team. These opportunities will include working with software engineering teams to design and implement control and messaging protocols for remote terminal management and event monitoring in consumer electronic devices.
Requirements:
- Expertise in C or C++, HTML/DHTML with CSS and Javascript
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL and database design and implementation
- Past experience with distributed processing
- Ability to develop interfaces for NOC and terminal provisioning support is highly desired
- Understanding of satellite communications networks
- Basic knowledge of LAN and WAN networks and network security
- Past experience with user account databases in a service environment with a large subscriber base
- Understanding of electronic billing methods
- Ability to develop interfaces with multi-language support
- Knowledge of web application development and HTTP protocol
- Past experience with LINUX servers
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and meet tight deadlines is a must
- Must be a team player and possess succinct communications skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (EE, CE, CS) is required
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop utilities for collection and formatting of real-time content
- Design and develop software for a user account database
- Implement billing and tracking functions
- Develop user interface for account management functions and field support
- Develop GUI for network monitoring and control functions
- Develop applications for management of the network and content distribution and rate scheduling
- Develop code for distribution of network terminal software updates
- Collaborate with the multimedia software engineer to develop utilities for pre-processing and packaging content for network distribution
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop software solutions that improve the performance of installation and provisioning activities
- Implement support for redundant high availability NOC and database systems
- Implement code for analysis and display of network events and status
- Conduct and support NOC staff training on deployed system
